Correct access rights setting - responsibility of the user

A large number of shared folders with different permissions settings and users who require changes by email, phone or in person - it is almost a guarantee of future problems.

The Management of Shared Folders module shifts the responsibility for setting the correct rights to the specific users with the respective authorization. The system administrator defines only the folders and their responsible managers (one or more).

Each user can then apply to have the access privileges assigned either just for himself or for the whole group from Active Directory. The request goes to the approval process and the staff member responsible for the folder has the right to approve the request, change or reject the approval.

At the time of approval of the request, the access rights to the respective folder are set automatically. The rights are also checked at regular intervals and if any discrepancies are found, the approved state is set back.

Responsible persons have an overview of permissions for their supervised folders and are able to trace the requirements under which the change occurred. Ordinary users have an insight into which folders they have access to. System administrators are able to transfer specific user rights to another employee or cancel them immediately with one click.

By deploying this module, you get the certainty that rights are set up as was approved and you are also able to declare when and why they were changed. For IT, there is a considerable reduction of time associated with manual adjustment of rights as required by individual users.
